Dr. Watford’s approach to counseling focuses on building a great therapeutic relationship with her clients and establishing an environment where they feel safe, comfortable, supported, relatable, and allowed to excel in all aspects of their lives.

Dr. Watford received a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Elizabeth City State University, a Master’s in Social Work specializing in children and families from Fayetteville State University, and her Doctorate of Social Work specializing in Leadership and Policy Implementation from Capella University. Dr. Watford is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. With over ten years of experience working with youth, adults, and couples from all walks of life.

Dr. Watford’s specialties also include but are not limited to: Life transitions including break-ups, transitions from college into young adulthood, work-life balance, empowerment, anger management, stress management, domestic violence, behavioral challenges, parenting skills, ADHD, social skills, stressors associated with raising a child with special needs, and other obstacles that life have tendencies of throwing at us.

Dr. Watford is passionate about assisting those in tense situations by helping them establish goals to overcome their challenges. Dr. Watford firmly believes in life’s golden rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
